Guide of Arrecife (Lanzarote)

Arrecife is a town on the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. Arrecife has developed around a fishing village that has expanded over time to become a lively tourist destination. The town owes its name to the high cliffs on the island and Arrecife means cliff.

Places to visit

Be sure to visit the salt water lagoon, El Charco de San gines, which is located in the city center and surrounded by traditional fisherman's houses. Also visit the Casa de Los Arroyo, a historic building that houses the Blas Cabrera Science Centre and do not miss the Castle of San Jose, which houses the International Museum of Contemporary Art.

Beaches

On Arrecife the largest and most popular beach is El Reducto, its shape protects it from the ocean waves and is located in the city center so can be quite crowded, but it is fully equipped with every amenity for day at the beach.
