Guide of Agios Konstantinos

Agios Konstantinos is a delightful town on the edge of the northern gulf of Evia in the Aegean Sea.  Agios Konstantinos is a hub, connecting Skiathos, Alonissos and Skopelos with the continental part of Greece.

History

Located along the road connecting Athens with Thessaloniki, Agios Konstantinos has been a strategically important site since antiquity and the port has been a big part of the commercial development of the town. The little white houses lne the coast and pine trees meet the mountains whilst the Aegean sea laps the coast.

Agios Konstantinos is located in the Gulf of Euboea, a part of the Aegean Sea that is very sheltered. The town was built over the old Dafnoundos that stood on the slopes of Mount Knimis. Many archaeological finds can be visited on the island such as the church of St. Konstantinos, which was built on the foundations of a Byzantine monastery.

Beaches

The city is a perfect starting point to visit the rest of the gulf and the island located a few kilometers from the coast where you can find wonderful beaches with clear water and white stones and there are also small boats for rent along the coast.

The nearby island of Euboea in Agios Georgios is one of the most beautiful and well known destinations in this area and the beaches around the beautiful village of Asproneri have white sand, pebbles and shallow water that make them perfect for families with children.
