Book your Go Nordic Cruiseline ferry with NetFerry
Go Nordic Cruiseline is the shipping company linking Copenhagen and Oslo all year round, with one sailing a day in each direction. The brand belongs to Gotlandsbolaget, Sweden's oldest passenger shipping company, which has operated this historic route between Denmark and Norway since 1 November 2024 with two cruise ferries, Nordic Crown and Nordic Pearl.
On NetFerry you can compare Go Nordic Cruiseline timetables and fares and book one-way or return tickets online for passengers and vehicles, with support in English before, during and after your journey.
History: more than 150 years between Copenhagen and Oslo
The sea link between the two Scandinavian capitals is one of the oldest in Northern Europe. For over a century and a half it was operated by the Danish company DFDS, which launched it in the years of its own foundation in 1866. In June 2024 DFDS announced the sale of the route to Gotlandsbolaget, together with the two ships, the terminals and around 800 staff at sea and ashore; the handover took place on 1 November 2024.
Gotlandsbolaget, based in Visby, has connected the Swedish mainland with the island of Gotland since 1865. Following the acquisition it created the new Go Nordic Cruiseline brand, renamed the former Crown Seaways and Pearl Seaways as Nordic Crown and Nordic Pearl and, in early 2025, sent both ships for a complete interior refurbishment at the Landskrona shipyard in Sweden. The link with the parent company is easy to spot: the ships have aqua-green hulls and a red funnel bearing Gotlandsbolaget's large "G".
The Copenhagen–Oslo route
The route is a direct overnight crossing through the Kattegat and up the Oslofjord, one of the most scenic stretches of sailing in Scandinavia. Ships depart at 16:30 from both Copenhagen and Oslo, arriving at 10:00 the following morning: you have dinner on board, sleep in your cabin and disembark in the centre of your destination city.
- Copenhagen terminal: Dampfærgevej 30, in the Østerbro district, connected to Nørreport station and Copenhagen Central Station by the company's shuttle bus.
- Oslo terminal: Akershusstranda 31, a short walk from Akershus Fortress and the city centre.
The route is ideal both for travellers heading to Norway by car or motorhome, who avoid the long drive through Sweden, and for those who want to combine two capitals in a single Nordic itinerary.
The Go Nordic Cruiseline fleet
The company operates two ships, both sailing under the Danish flag and refurbished in 2025, with a combined capacity of more than 3,500 passengers:
- Nordic Crown (1994): 170 metres long, 1,790 passengers, 630 cabins and space for 450 cars. She stands out for her large number of cabins with private balconies.
- Nordic Pearl (1989): 178 metres, 1,852 passengers, 705 cabins and 320 cars. She features an outdoor pool, cabins with private jacuzzis and a conference area on the top deck.
On-board facilities
All cabins were fully refurbished in 2025 and come with a private bathroom, air conditioning, TV, bed linen and towels. Options range from economy and standard inside cabins to sea-view cabins sleeping up to five, up to the Commodore category: Commodore Class, Commodore De Luxe, Commodore Balcony and Owner's Suite, with breakfast and Wi-Fi included and, in the higher categories, access to the Commodore Lounge, open 24 hours a day. Accessible cabins are also available for passengers with reduced mobility.
Dining options include the Nordic buffet Skagerak, the steak and seafood grill Kull, Italian cuisine at Syd and the Kværn café, with pastries baked on board every day. Bars, a nightclub, evening entertainment that is largely free of charge, a gym with sea views and the Go Shop tax-free store complete the experience.
Pets are welcome: dogs and cats travel in dedicated pet-friendly cabins (maximum two animals per cabin), which are available in limited numbers and should therefore be booked well in advance. During the crossing pets must stay in the cabin and cannot be left in vehicles; both ships have a small outdoor exercise area.
