Port of SPLIT
The port in Split is located in the south of the city, it was created and developed as an important center for both goods transit and passenger transport. The development of the port of Split and its strategic position along the Adriatic has meant that it has become an almost obligatory stop for cruises and a destination for ferries traveling to Croatia. The port of Split has ancient roots and was used by the Greeks for trade, then by the Romans. The port saw a period of great prosperity during the Middle Ages.
The port has several different areas, a cargo area in the Vranjic-Solin basin. A dock for yachts and private boats, then Resnik-Divulje is the passenger terminal, which is located just five minutes from the city center. The train station and the bus terminal are also right in front of the port and from there you can get to the surrounding areas as well as the city. Split airport is about 20 kilometers from the port and there are buses that connect with departures. From the airport you can get to the center with bus number 37, which operates every half hour.
