The heart of the city of Thessaloniki is its commercial port, located in the immediate vicinity of the White Tower which is the symbol of the city. The port is in a strategic geographical location and is well connected by road networks. It is located within the Thermaicos Bay, to the west of the city center of Thessaloniki.

It is one of the largest ports in Greece and a gateway to the Balkans and the south-east of Europe in general. The port has a cargo terminal and a container terminal in addition to the oil area. The city and the port are well connected by bus and train to every region and area of ​​the country.

How to reach the port

By car, Thessaloniki is easily reachable by motorways and national roads, the port is about 500 kilometers from Athens and you take the E75 and A1; is about 300 kilometers from Igoumenitsa port along the Egnatia / Odos and the A1; 475 km is the distance with the port of Patras, reachable via the A5 and Egnatia / Odos. The port is located about 1 km from the main railway station and about 16 km from the Thessaloniki "Macedonia" international airport, from here there are bus and taxi connections.
