The main port of the island of Sifnos is located in Kamares, on the northwest coast of the island, within a deep natural inlet. The port of Sifnos is located in a part of the rocky island with very little vegetation, a lunar landscape awaits visitors arriving by ferry on the coast of the island, unlike the inland area of the island that is rich in vegetation.

Buses depart from near the port for various locations around the island, which can otherwise be reached by taxi. Buses coincide with the arrival of ferries and passenger ships to Sifnos.
