Port of Sifnos

The main port of the island of Sifnos is located in Kamares, on the northwest coast of the island, within a deep natural inlet. The port of Sifnos is located in a part of the rocky island with very little vegetation, a lunar landscape awaits visitors arriving by ferry on the coast of the island, unlike the inland area of the island that is rich in vegetation.

The development of the village of Kamares began in the nineteenth century and today you can find supermarkets, tourist accommodation, bookshops, taverns, craft shops and cafes around the port. Buses depart from near the port for various locations around the island, which can otherwise be reached by taxi. Buses coincide with the arrival of ferries and passenger ships to Sifnos.

There are two convenient airports for Sifnos, Athens and Santorini. From Athens airport you can easily reach the port of Piraeus by metro or bus, and from there take a ferry to Serifos. From Santorini airport it is 10 kilometers to the port, by taxi or private transfer.

You can also take a bus to Thira bus station and from here take another to the port. Both take twenty minutes and you can find the bus in the central square of Thira, one hour before the departure.
