GNV – Grandi Navi Veloci is an Italian shipping company based in Genoa, founded in 1992 by Aldo Grimaldi and part of the MSC Group since 2010. Its first ship, the Majestic, entered service in 1993: together with her sister ship Splendid, she was the first cruise ferry operated by an Italian company. Today GNV ferries run 33 routes across eight Mediterranean countries, connecting mainland Italy with Sicily and Sardinia, Spain and the Balearic Islands, Albania and North Africa.

The GNV ferry network covers seven main sailing areas:
Sicily. Palermo can be reached from Genoa in about 19 hours, from Naples in 8 hours 30 minutes and from Civitavecchia; Termini Imerese is connected to Civitavecchia and Naples. Genoa–Palermo is the company's historic route and operates all year round.
Sardinia. Olbia and Porto Torres can be reached from Genoa in about 11 hours, with overnight crossings that arrive on the island in the morning; Civitavecchia–Olbia takes about 7 hours. The widest choice of sailings is in the summer months.
Spain and the Balearic Islands. Barcelona is connected to Genoa and Civitavecchia, with crossings of 17 to 21 hours. From the ports of Barcelona and Valencia, ferries sail to Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza and Mahón (Menorca), with sailing times of 5 to 8 hours.
Morocco. Tangier Med is served from Genoa, Barcelona and Sète; Nador from Barcelona, Sète and Almería. Almería–Nador is the shortest link, with a crossing of about 5 hours.
Tunisia. Tunis can be reached from Genoa in about 20 hours, from Civitavecchia and from Palermo, where the crossing takes less than 9 hours.
Algeria. From the French port of Sète, ferries sail to Algiers and Béjaïa, with one weekly departure to each destination and about 25 hours at sea.
Albania. The Bari–Durrës route links Apulia with Albania, with daily departures and a crossing of 6 to 8 hours.
GNV operates a fleet of 29 ships, most of them cruise ferries: vessels that combine the transport of passengers and vehicles with the services of a cruise ship. A fleet renewal plan worth over one billion euros will bring eight new ships into service by 2030, all built by Guangzhou Shipyard International in China:

On GNV ferries you can choose between interior and exterior cabins, suites, seats and deck passage. The ships offer an à la carte restaurant, self-service restaurant, bars, on-board shop, Wi-Fi and dedicated children's areas; some vessels also have a swimming pool. When booking, you can buy meals with the prepaid Food Pass cards and add Late Check-out, which lets you stay in your cabin until 15 minutes before arrival in port. Pets travel in kennels or cattery areas or in dedicated cabins: they are not allowed in public areas and may not be left in vehicles.

Grandi Navi Veloci ferry lines allow you to lock the price of your ticket by paying a 10% deposit on the total price (including fees) and paying the rest of the balance within 30 days of departure. Grandi Navi Veloci allows you to travel with your pet. To bring your pet onboard just buy a ticket for the kennel or cattery, or travel in a special cabin that allows the transport of pets.
